On Thursday, October 24, Scovill Fasteners hosted Habersham Chamber of Commerce business members at its global headquarters in Clarkesville, Georgia. Through these monthly events, called Business after Hours, Chamber members meet in an informal social setting at the host member’s business. This relaxed venue allows businesses to gain new insight into the host member and its industry and also reinforces a sense of community in which all benefit. CEO Craig Stoudt voiced his pleasure by saying, “We’re pleased to host the Chamber’s October Business after Hours event and look forward to being part of other future activities”.
Following opening remarks by Chamber President Dr. Judy Taylor and introduction of new members, Scovill employees conducted business leaders on a tour of the plant.
Community involvement is a primary focus for Scovill. CEO Stoudt reinforced the company’s commitment by saying, “We’ve been a part of the Habersham County community for nearly sixty years, and we take great pride in supporting local charities and community organizations”. He went on to add that, “We recognize that our employees need more than a place to work, but are a part of our community. It’s important to my management team and me that Scovill is a positive influence and example”. Scovill’s corporate donations include support for a diverse range of organizations including those that help victims of domestic violence, schools, and shelters.
Scovill Fasteners, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Gores Group since 2011, originally opened its doors for business in 1802 in Waterbury, Connecticut.
