March 1, 2017 – Larry Peevy, Chairman Elect of the Habersham Chamber of Commerce, presented Craig Stoudt, CEO of Scovill Fasteners, with the Member of the Month Award. This award is a special recognition of outstanding dedication and involvement from a company within the community. Mr. Peevy and the other Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors honored Scovill by taking a few moments to speak to the quality work of Scovill Fasteners, and the company’s support of economic development in Habersham County. Scovill was further recognized by being interviewed during Habersham “Chamber Chat”, and by being featured in the Northeast Georgian newspaper which will be published on March 24, 2017.
Scovill Fasteners was voted Member of the Month by the Habersham County Chamber of Commerce due to the company’s global presence, for the jobs Scovill brings to the Habersham community, and the continuous support the company provides the Chamber and the Economic Development Committee.
Scovill Fasteners, a member of The Morito Group, is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of Apparel and light Industrial fasteners, and has been a member of the Habersham community for over 60 years. The company was founded in 1802 in Waterbury, CT, and since the mid-1950’s has provided buttons, zippers, snap fasteners, grommets and washers as well as attaching machines from its Global Headquarters in Clarkesville, Georgia.
